Recruitment for Chapters
Successful recruitment is the key to not only growing your chapter but ensuring it remains active in years to come. There are a number of different ways to approach both recruitment efforts and recruitment goals. Consider what might work best for you and your members. You can set a recruitment goal for the chapter as a whole, or set individual recruitment goals for each member. Maybe your recruitment is ongoing, or you have goals for each semester or each month.
Possibly the most helpful tool for recruitment will be your Tutor Recruitment Flyer with unique URL and QR code. Using a phone camera to scan the unique QR code is the fastest way to have someone sign up as part of your chapter. Make sure you always have the flyer at any events your chapter attends or holds. Similarly, you can encourage members of your chapter to keep a PDF or picture of the flyer saved to their phone, so that if they talk to someone interested in applying, they’ll always have the flyer with them.
Remember, It’s important to be strategic when setting recruitment goals, especially when you are first starting as you want to avoid making goals feel completely unattainable. If each tutor recruits two additional tutors to the chapter, your chapter will grow dramatically!
Helpful Tip: Your unique Tutor Recruitment Flyer can be found on your Chapter Leader Dashboard. Log into your LTB account, toggle to Partner Admin view, and look for “Recruitment Flyers” under Quick Links.
Ongoing Recruitment vs. Scheduled Events
Ongoing Recruitment can be easy and uncomplicated!
- Connect with classmates, coworkers or other people in your community and tell them about your experience with Learn To Be. Invite them to learn more about how you’ve made an impact and how they can too.
- Seek permission to hang recruitment flyers in your school or in community places such as the post office or public library.
- If you are in high school, talk to your faculty advisor and principal about including LTB information in back to school packets.
Scheduled Events
Look for scheduled events in your community to attend for direct recruitment efforts.
- Many schools at both the high school and college level have back to school fairs or back to school nights you could table at.
- Look into if you can table at craft fairs, town fairs, community nights, etc.
Don’t forget that fundraising events can also serve as recruitment opportunities!
Social Media
Social media can have a huge reach and can be a successful tool for recruitment. In addition to posting about LTB and your chapter on your own social media pages, consider asking your school or organization about highlighting your chapter on their own pages.
