What do the diagnostic results mean and how do I use them to help my student?
Best practices for using the diagnostic results:
- SCREEN SHARING:
- For the Diagnostic: It is mandatory that the student share their screen and complete the diagnostic completely on their own.
- For Skills Practice: When possible, the student should share their screen and answer questions from their account, but when that's not possible, the tutor can log in as the student and answer questions based on what the student shares aloud.
- ***VERY IMPORTANT - all data should be saved in the students account so that LTB and you (the tutor) can monitor students' usage, progress, and growth.
- From the Action Plan (diagnostic results), choose 1–2 recommended skills per week and work toward proficiency (SmartScore of 80).
Diagnostic results explained:
Single number → The diagnostic is complete and up to date.
Example: A result of 460 means the diagnostic is finished and current.
Range of numbers → The diagnostic is still in progress.
Example: A result like 340–460 means the system is still gathering data, and more questions need to be answered before accurate recommendations can be made.
Number-to-grade connection → Scores roughly correspond to grade levels.
Example: 300 ≈ 3rd grade, 650 ≈ midway through 6th grade.
