How do I make sure my tutoring hours will be verified?

The answer to this is simple. If you are honest to the best of your ability about the hours you are reporting, there won't be an issue.


Here are some general guidelines and best practices to ensure your hours are verified:

  • Only use our Learn To Be Classrooms: Zoom, Google Meet, BigBlueButton, and Groupworld.
    • If there are technical issues and you need to use an external classroom, please email us at hello@learntobe.org within 1 week of the session.
  • ALL sessions will be automatically recorded through our classrooms. DO NOT turn off the recording or that session will not be verified.
  • Complete a feedback form for each of your sessions. Your session logs should match our recordings as closely as possible for hours to be verified (don't worry, it doesn't have to be exact but it should be within 15 mins).

What Doesn't Count As Hours:

  • Tutoring a friend or family member does not count as community service and will not be verified as service hours.
  • Tutoring in-person is against our platform policies and will not be verified as hours.
  • Prep time or any time that is not active tutoring will not be verified as service hours.
